It sounds like we're back in the Worship Space this week. I can't speak for the rest of you, but its been a refreshing change in pace to be in the Hall over the past month. Yes, there have been challenges with limited space and the sound system, but being in such close quarters also allowed us to hear each other better. On top of that, it was a subtle reminder of how blessed and well-equipped we are in our usual space.
It's been interesting to note how many other parishioners have made similar comments about enjoying the experience of celebrating Mass in a less formal setting. Perhaps we should try to bring some of that 'atmosphere' with us, such as not spreading out too much and making an effort to listen to each other more.
I'd ask that folks (especially instrumentalists) arrive a bit early on Saturday, just in case there are any technical issues to be worked out.
Our program is largely out of Spirit & Song. There are a few tunes we haven't done in a while, such as 'There is a Longing' and 'Cry the Gospel'. The ladder will probably be the most challenging, so definitely look these over before the weekend.
I also found out that Father Charlie is adding an additional song to the program: GC #748, 'What is This Place'. Father will be saying a prayer and 're-blessing' the Worship Space. The tune is a bit traditional and vaguely familiar, but I don't believe we've done it before. I'm not sure if we'll be leading this or not, so please take some time to become familiar with it.
