Tom and I met at 4 PM to review Mass Parts and the music for the liturgy, something we may end up doing somewhat regularly for a while. Feel free to come early and join us if there's something specific you'd like to look at before rehearsal.
On Sunday, Jonathan and I, as well as folks from the 11 AM choir and religious education classes, performed in what turned out to be a pretty successful talent show as part of Father's Stewardship Kickoff event. It was also hinted at that the talent show may become an annual event, so just something to keep an eye out for if you're interested in performing.
For 'The Summons', just a reminder that it'll be listed as GC #700 in the program for consistency, but we've been working out of the SS since that version includes a written into and interlude.
Last week, we did the Gloria as a Sprinkling Rite per Father's request. I'm not sure if he'd like to continue doing this for the rest of the month or not, so just something to be aware of.
If anyone would be interested in cantoring the Psalm, it's the GC version of 'I Will Praise Your Name'.
The Advent Planning Meeting is scheduled for next Monday, November 9th at 7 PM. I'm tied up with another commitment that night, but have asked Jim to go in my place so our group is represented. Once we have a better idea of what Father would like to do for Advent, we can begin planning for Christmas.
I have a Choral Society concert Saturday evening, so I won't be at Mass this week. Jim and Tom are also tied up. I've reached out to Jonathan to see if he might be available to play lead and run things. He's checking and will get back to me.
