Songs & Updates for Saturday, December 12, 2015

This Saturday is the 3rd Sunday of Advent.

We where a little thin on singers last week and Mass was a bit messy in the first half, but we made it through. Thanks to everyone who was able to be there!

Tom, Ginny, Maggie and I stuck around afterward to look over/review Mass of Joy & Peace, the Psalm for this week and our tentative Christmas Eve Mass program.

Masses for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception will be this evening at 7 PM (anticipated) and tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 9 AM.

Our Psalm this week is one we haven't done before. Please be sure to review it before Saturday, and, as always, if you're interested in cantoring, let me know. Note we'll be doing Refrain II, which is different than the one we looked at during practice (sorry about that...).

If you still remember your parts for 'O Come, Divine Messiah', our Closing song, please look those over as well.

I have a Choral Society Christmas concert on Saturday at 3 PM. In taking a closer look at the schedule, there's a good chance I'll be able to make Mass after all, but will be a bit late for 4:30 practice (Jim, Maggie: if you guys could run things for a bit, that would be great!). Will let you know if something changes, though.

Please plan to stick around for rehearsal from ~7:00-8:30 PM on Saturday. If someone would be up for bringing a bite to eat, let me know. More details to come later, but the tentative plan is to work through the music for Christmas Mass.

Also, I tentatively have additional practices on the board for next Saturday, 12/19 and a Dress Rehearsal the evening of 12/23 (assuming I can reserve the church setup in the Parish Hall). I don't want to sound like a broken record when it comes to practices, but we're only a few weeks out at this point, and I'd love to avoid a last-minute rush to pull together the program.
