Our music for August has been approved with no changes. We do have a Baptism this week, so I made the appropriate changes to the program. The Gloria will be used as our Gathering song and Killoren's 'Living Water' will be used for the Sprinkling Rite. I know we typically do 'There is a Well' for this, but I got a request the last time we had a Baptism for a change in pace. Moving forward, we can alternate between the two.
If someone would like to cantor the Psalm, let me know. Note we'll be using Refrain III.
The Killoren arrangement of 'We Are one Body' will be our Communion song for August. At this point, I'm not going to worry about squeezing in an extra practice since we all know the tune; it'll just be a matter of making sure we're on the same page with the arrangement. Again, I'd like to suggest we use the Killoren version as a baseline and tweak it from there. Please plan to be ready to start practice at 4:30 so we have plenty of time to work this out.
For 'In the Day of the Lord', we may only want to do the first three verses. This was originally split between Gathering and Closing before I found out about the Baptism.
Lastly, on an unrelated side note, you might want to take a few minutes to check out the new Parish website. It's still a work-in-progress, but definitely a marked improvement over the original. Chris, who plays piano at the 9 AM Mass and also records Father's homilies, spearheaded this project.
