Some of us met a bit early to work out a few tempo issues. The extra thirty minutes was nice, especially when our regular hour practice tends to not be quite enough time. I know we can't do this every week, but I think it would be beneficial to have slightly extended rehearsals on an as-needed basis. I don't like being cramped for time, especially with everything that's been going on lately.
Storrington Mass is coming along nicely. It was definitely a bit cleaner last week, and I'm sensing that folks are getting more comfortable with it. Let's continue spot-checking these in the coming weeks; if there's anything specific you'd like to go over, let me know. We should also look at the Gloria and regular Gospel Acclamation in the next few weeks so we're good to go for Easter.
With Holy Week right around the corner, I've gone ahead and drafted the music for April, including Good Friday (04/14 @ 2 PM) and Easter Sunday (04/16 @ 9 AM - Parish Hall). If you're able to help out with one or both of those liturgies, I'd love to have a full compliment of musicians. I know a few of our regulars usually can't make these, so if that's still the case this year, please let me know ASAP.
I'll likely schedule one extra rehearsal either the Saturday before, or sometime during that week. We'll also met about an hour before each to run the programs. Will put out more details on the plan once everything's been nailed down (no meetings have been held yet).
Finally, a few quick updates on availability. Tim is going to be out on March 25th. I'm also going to be out on April 1st and 29th. Looking even further ahead, it sounds like Maggie's going to be out in May, and Jim in June. I'm seeing about finding coverage.
