Songs & Updates for Saturday, September 30, 2017

This Saturday is the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

We were back at full staff last week, and had yet another solid Mass. Thanks to all who were able to be there, especially the Davis clan for taking on the Psalm.

The wedding party didn't wrap up until about 4:15 PM, so a few of us spent a good 20 minutes cleaning up and resetting the Choir/Worship Space. Didn't cause any issues with practice, though.

I'm still working on picking the music for October (where did September go?). I'm hoping to have that wrapped up later this week, and sent out to everyone by the beginning of next week.

Please note the change in Communion song from what was previously announced. At Father's request, we'll be using Where Two or Three Are Gathered, rather than Here I Am, Lord. We had some time to go through this new song last week, and it should be doable. We seem to be OK with the refrain, but may need to spend some extra time on the verses. If you haven't already, please take some time to look at this.

No one has signed up (here) to bring food for our dinner on Saturday. I don't like to nag, but just want to get an idea of where we stand. Alternatively, we could order in if that would be easier.

Finally, in October, I'm hoping to start preliminary planning for Christmas. I know it seems a bit early, but I want to get ahead of the Children's Program that we'll likely do again this year. As you may recall, in 2016, this was given to us on very short notice, and ended up causing some problems. I also wouldn't mind mixing things up a bit as far as our "standard" program. As always, open to suggestions if you have any pieces you'd like to do :-)

UPDATE: 09/30: Joe and Tom are (tentatively) out today. Also, thanks to everyone who signed up to bring food -- we should have a nice spread :-)
