Deacon Bob's passing earlier this week was definitely unexpected and very sad. In the early days, he had a huge impact on our Music Ministry, and we wouldn't be where we are today without him. Bob's "prolific writing period" in the mid-90s also gave us a bunch of wonderful music that's still in use today. He'll definitely be missed. Please keep the Killoren Family in your prayers, and stay tuned for info on services, etc..
Practice materials for our Lenten Communion song Make Us Worthy went out by email (also here). Please start working on your parts, and we'll pull this together at a separate rehearsal on Friday, 02/16. I'm aware that a couple of you can't make it that night, so we can also take a peek at this over the weekend if there's time.
Likewise, don't forget to review Mass of Remembrance. We've done this Setting many times, but it's been a while. Materials can be found here. Just a reminder that during Lent, the Gloria is omitted, and we'll use the Lenten Gospel Acclamation in place of the regular Gospel Acclamation. Not sure which Eucharistic Acclamation we'll be using yet, though.
We have a Baptism on Saturday. I already had Killoren's Living Water on the board for the Sprinkling Rite; Barb and I also swapped out the Gathering song for Hosanna, Glory, which seemed appropriate given yesterday's news. The rest of the program is as normal.
