This Saturday is the 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Mass went well last Saturday. We where almost at full staff and had a number of pretty strong pieces. Thanks as always to everyone who was able to be there!

Our Gathering song this week, 'Gather Your People', is one we don't do too often. Please look it over if unfamiliar.

If anyone would be interested in cantoring the Psalm, 'Shepherd Me, O God', please let me know.

Before mass last week, Jim and I got on the subject of instrumental preludes. In the past, we've had trouble pulling together more complex preludes that included the entire group. If we still want to do preludes in the Fall when things normalize again, we may want to consider focusing on instrumental pieces that can be pulled together with very little (or no) practice. That might be a nice way to ease back into preludes while we sort out a few other issues like finding a keyboard player. Anyway, just something to think about.

UPDATE (7/18): Barb was in touch with me earlier this week about a song Father would like us to do next weekend. It's been a crazy week for us and I just had a chance to take a look at it this morning. It turns out that the song is the classic gospel hymn 'Lead Me, Guide Me' (GC 574). I don't believe we've done this one in a very long time, but I think we're all familiar with it. This would serve as our Closing song, replacing another piece Father had selected, 'World Piece Prayer'.
