Father hasn't been feeling well, so he really wanted to keep things moving along. After cutting the Gloria/Creed and doing a short Homily, we finished Mass in a record 45 minutes (even with a larger crowd).
Only a few of us were able to stay for dinner. Given everything else that's going on, perhaps it would make sense to switch to a quarterly, rather than monthly, schedule. That would allow us to focus on planning a few larger get-together's, rather than a bunch of smaller ones. If there are no objections, let's give that a try. That would put our next dinner at the end of April.
As far as Lent planning, our Mass Setting will be Mass of Remembrance. We'll also be doing a new Communion song: GC3 #662 - Make Us Worthy (check it out here). Soloists may need to take point on the verses, as they'll be difficult for the congregation to sing. Father also asked that we use the written voice parts. Fair warning: this is very much a gospel tune; it should be fun to sing, but will take a little extra time to pull together. With that being said, tentative rehearsal date for Lent music is Friday, 02/16 @ 7 PM.
The selections for February are mostly ready to go and will be sent to the Office in the next day or two. The music for this Saturday has been approved with no changes.
I mentioned that I'd be out this week, but should be able to make it after all. I probably won't be able to stick around too long afterward, though.
