Jim is out this week and next and Barry will be gone the remainder of the month. I believe Paul is planning to help us out in their absence, though.
Our Gathering song (GC 320) this week is a new one. It's a bit traditional for us, but fairly easy to learn. Sped up, it should work fine as an opening song. Our Psalm (GC 97) is also an unfamiliar one, but Karina has volunteered to learn (and cantor) it.
We're still in need of Communion Meditations for the rest of the month. Please let me know if interested in doing something (I'm not too worried about this week since we'll be thin on people).
Also, don't forget that masses for the Feast of the Assumption of Mary are being held on Wednesday (7 PM) and Thursday (9 AM) next week. As always, feel free to join Barb's group covering the music for that mass.
Last week at the end of mass, we found out Father would like some music for the Father Bender Center ground-breaking ceremony on the 18th at 6:30. I've been coordinating with the other Choirs to determine what kind of manpower we have to work with. Barb H. is doing the same thing, and met with Charlie on Wednesday to discuss the details. So far, we have about 10 people signed up between our three groups, so we should have more than enough people to pull off whatever he has in mind (will pass along details as soon as I've heard from Barb).
Keep in mind that with the renovations getting under way next week, no one will be able to use the Parish Hall until this entire affair wraps next year sometime (at which point in won't be the Hall anymore, but a Youth Center and office space).
Here are the songs for Saturday (all revisions made by us and not Father):
