We were thin on people last weekend, but still managed to pull everything off.
After mass, Jim, Maggie, Lisa K., and I very briefly stayed after mass to run a few songs for this week. Most notably, we worked on the long-forbidden 'We Are Marching' with new lyrics that Father created. With some modification, I was able adapt the tune to fit the words
After this week, we'll be starting a new monthly cycle of music (to be selected). This will be our last week of doing 'We Are One Body', which has turned out quite well. Thanks for all your efforts in resurrecting this Good Shepherd classic in a fresh, new way!
UPDATE (9/12): over the past two weeks, the 'key situation' with the new cupboard in the Choir was discussed amongst Dee and the Choir heads. The Office found keys to this cupboard in a pile of keys left by the contractors. Ultimately, it was decided that each choir director (myself, Joanne, and Barb P.) will have a key to this cabinet, plus one spare kept in the building as a backup. Starting this week, if anyone needs in, let me know and I can unlock it for you -- the new standing policy is all material (with the exception of songbooks) needs to be in the cabinet when not in use.
There will be practice after mass from 7-8 PM.
Also, just a reminder that the new report time for instrumentalists is 4:15 PM.
