This Saturday is the 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
I was out again last week, so I don't have many updates.
We're in need of musicians for the funeral mass for Sara's dad Al being held at 11 AM on Wednesday at OLV. Details went out by email last night. Please let me know ASAP if you'd like to be involved.
As far as I know, we're still in need of a cantor for the Psalm, SS 86.
I'm planning to select music for March this week and get that sent to the Office for approval early next week.
There will be practice after mass from 6:30-8:00 PM. The plan so far is to:
- Finalize our arrangement of Open the Eyes of My Heart
- Work on GC 381 - Dust and Ashes
- Work on GC 881 - Remember Your Love
- Work on GC 394 - Change Our Hearts
- Review Mass of Remembrance:
If you're not able to stick around (I know it's Valentine's Day), please let me know. If not enough people can stay, I may want to reschedule this for a weeknight so we don't fall behind.

UPDATE (2/9): For those planning to be involved, I've just received the final music selections from Maggie for Al's funeral mass. Most of this is pretty standard stuff from our repertoire, but the closing song is new and I'm not sure what mass setting we'll be using.
Entrance: The Summons
Psalm: Shepherd Me, Oh God (Monica Bojan is cantoring)
Preparation of the Gifts: Be Not Afraid
Communion: 1) One Bread, One Body
2) I am the Bread of Life
Recessional: For I Shall See You Again (Not in the green book, OLV has music-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL5b8nhthnU)
The final plan is for all musicians to meet in the Music Suite at the OLV Activities Center to rehearse at 10 AM on Wednesday. We will then relocate to the Church choir area in time for an 11 AM mass. Maggie and I are still not clear on many of the details, so stay tuned for further info and be prepared to 'wing it' if necessary. Thanks!
