The music for August has been sent to the Office for approval. Will let you know of any changes to this week's program. I'm also finalizing the cantor schedule for the month, and will get that out shortly.
As we approach September, I'm considering introducing some new Communion songs. We 'lost' a few repertoire pieces when we switched editions of Gather, but at the same time, the new Gather offers some interesting possibilities. I may also look into pulling songs from the old book, since it would be a shame to stop doing those pieces. More on this later -- with folks still in and out, I don't want to try anything until post-summer.
The search for a new pianist begins. I'll see about posting a note to the Parish Facebook page, and possibly running a blurb in the Bulletin. I may also touch base with a couple of music contacts on Campus.
If we do have any takers, it might be worth sitting down with them (informally) and trying to get a sense of whether they'd be a good fit. Like Eva mentioned, we can't pay anyone, but might be able to offer some benefits such as transportation (and of course, the opportunity to play on a regular basis). Keep me in the loop if you come across any leads.
Also, please keep Father Charlie in your prayers -- he's having carpal tunnel surgery this week, but will be back to celebrate the weekend Masses with help from Deacon Jack.
Eva will be out on 07/05, 07/12 and 07/19 (next three weeks). Jim, Maggie and Joe will be out for a Group Therapy gig on 07/26.
