Songs & Updates for Saturday, July 19, 2014

This Saturday is the 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Last week, we had a nearly-perfect mass with strong guitar and percussion sections, one lead melodic instrument, and a fair number of singers (including a few new folks). Really nice job, all!


After mass, Jonathan, Ginny, Emily, and I very briefly worked on the Psalm for this week and a Taize piece we'll be doing at the Dedication, 'In the Lord I'll be Ever Thankful'. In sectionals, we started to put together the parts, but the piece definitely still needs some work.

This weekend is setup for Vacation Bible School, the Parish Picnic, and the New Building Dedication/Blessing. See separate post for details on the plan.

Barry, Jim Chip, and Karina, Maggie, and Lisa K. are out this week. There will (tentatively) be practice after mass from 7-8 PM.

Since there was some confusion over how music for the weekend masses would be handled, the selections for Saturday are TBA. We know for certain, however, that the Psalm will SS 62, Taste and See, and Father has also asked that we use Killoren's 'Mission Song' sometime during mass. Please check back later for the rest.
