Mass overall went pretty well last week. Huge thanks to Jonathan and Maggie for covering instruments!
Our music for May has been approved with no changes.
Masses for Feast of the Ascension will be held on Wednesday, May 4th at 7 PM and Thursday, May 5th at 9 AM. Barb's group is covering the Wednesday Mass -- feel free to join them!
Father Charlie will be on a week-long vacation starting Thursday, May 5th, so we'll have a visiting priest for all the weekend Masses. I'll make it a point to check in with him before practice to make sure we're on the same page from a music standpoint.
Our Psalm this week is 'God Mounts His Throne'. Please look this over if unfamiliar and let me know if you'd be up for singing it.
After all the issues we ran into with last month's Communion song, 'In the Breaking of the Bread' (we finally nailed it last week, though :-), I've picked something fun and familiar for the new month: 'I Am the Bread of Life'. I'd like to suggest that we do this song as consistently as possible across all four Saturday Masses to help reduce confusion over the arrangement. Here's what I'm thinking:

Finally, the annual Time & Talent Fair is coming up the weekend of May 14th and 15th. We usually don't have much luck recruiting new musicians, but if a few folks would be willing to stick around after Mass anyway to promote our group, that would be great.
