This Saturday is the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
On the same token, we have music picked out as far as the end of September (thanks, Barry!), which is good since Jonathan won't be back until sometime in October (it was originally late August).
Finally, in talking with Father last week, I found out about a proposal to move the Choir section in the Church in an effort to get people on the opposite side to sing. Basically, what Father wants to do is move the entire sanctuary forward and insert Choir behind it. Our current space would then revert to normal seating.
Needless to say, that poses quite a few potential problems (Jim, Ginny, Karina, and I discussed this last Saturday):
- Being that we're front and center, all our moving around and whispering would be obvious and distracting to everyone.
- We'd constantly be looking at Father's back and won't be able to see any music ques he gives.
- It'll be much more difficult to hear what's going on since the big speakers on the ceiling will be in front of us.
- The area behind the sanctuary isn't set up/wired for all our sound equipment.
Here are the songs for Saturday:
Gathering:
SS 163 - Table of Plenty
Response (Jim):
SS 74 - If Today (Psalm 95)
Preparation:
GC 659 - Blest Are They
Meditation - "How God is Known" (Jim)
Silence calls you; Listen -- so you'll know
Waiting, praying; Longing to be shown
Within our grasp of each other - His presence waits
Fuse and then discover
His plan now starts to take shape
He is with us -- waiting to be known
Loose your thinking -- Love is how we grow
If only we knew God inside us, to live as He showed
Fear, mistrust divides us from knowing who we really are
All God's children -- Longing for your home
Love can show you -- How He can be known.
Communion:
GC 696 - Lord, When You Came
Closing:
GC 718 - We Are Called
There's no practice after mass this week.
Until Saturday,
