Things went fairly well on Sunday despite issues with the sound system and not much practice time. We ended up doing most of mass without microphones, and several songs where limited to only a verse or two since the Hall was maybe only half full. Once again, huge thanks to everyone who was able to sing, play or otherwise help out with the Triduum masses!
If anyone is interested in cantoring the Psalm, 'This is the Day', please let me know. We'll be using this Psalm for the next six weeks.
We'll also be using 'Resucitó' as our Easter Focus Hymn for the next six weeks. Let's try to work towards a slightly faster tempo on this one -- the slower tempo we tried last Wednesday was very pretty, but doesn't fit the style of the music very well. If you're not familiar with this one, please look it over before Saturday.
We have several less-common songs (at least, for us) on the board for this week, including 'Sing to the Mountains', 'We Remember', and 'Lift Up Your Hearts'. Instrumentalists, please look these over if unfamiliar.
Since we only did three verses on Sunday, I'd like to propose giving 'Whom Do You Seek?' another shot as an informal prelude. If we don't have the manpower and/or run out of time, though, I'm not going to worry about it. It's just such a powerful piece and we have precious few chances to do it during the year.
Cindy and Ginny are out this week.
There will be practice after mass from 6:30-8:30 PM -- the plan is to work through 'Increase our Faith', our prelude for 4/25. Karina and I will be out next week due to a show, so we may not have another chance to work on this before then. Please let me know if you're able to stick around -- Tom volunteered to bring dinner.

UPDATE (4/10): Barb is looking for some folks to cover the First Communion Mass on Saturday, April 25th at 10 AM. She and Jeff normally cover, but are unavailable that morning. I've offered to help, but we still need piano and/or guitar accompaniment. Additional singers and other instruments would also be more than welcome.
