Our music for July was sent to the Office and approved same-day by Father Charlie.
'Glory and Praise to our God' is a fun, upbeat piece that we don't normally do at Saturday Mass. It's one that most of you should be familiar with from the Sunday Masses, but if not, please look it over before the weekend.
If you'd be interested in cantoring the Psalm or a verse for 'Bring Forth the Kingdom', let me know!
Our Communion song, 'Taste and See', is one I don't believe we've done before. Note this is not the tune that comes to mind out of Spirit & Song. I'm hoping most of you are at least somewhat familiar with this, but if not, definitely look it over before Saturday. Although the verses are a bit tricky, what's nice about this piece is we have quite a bit of flexibility when it comes to how fast or slow we take it. I'd also love to take some time to work on the harmonies at some point.
Since Monday is the 4th of July, we may want to consider doing a patriotic postlude -- there's a pretty standard arrangement of 'America the Beautiful' in the GC that would probably work if there's interest and we have enough people to pull it off.
Maggie is out this week, but will be back on July 9th; Jim will also be back on the 9th.
In the interim, Eva is available to play piano.
Tom is out for all of July.
