I'm not usually a fan of pulling off largely a capella Masses without advanced planning, but most of our tunes turned out pretty well. Adding in harmony helped to fill in the gaps, while Joe's percussion minimized tempo issues.
I'm still working on selecting the music for September. Again, if you have any ideas, feel free to pass them along!
We haven't done our Gathering Song, 'All Are Welcome', in quite a while. If you're not familiar with this tune, please look it over before the weekend. Five verses is probably too many for Gathering, so let's plan to do the first three only.
This will be our last week of doing Killoren's arrangement of 'We Are One Body' as our Communion song. I've enjoyed pulling this one out again! Jim, Jonathan and Maggie will be tied up with prep for a concert on Saturday, but Eva is available to play piano (welcome back!). We haven't done this song with piano-only accompaniment since (I'm told) Tyler was here. I definitely think it's doable; we may just need to tweak the arrangement a bit to make it all work.
Also, like last week, we'll need a couple of folks to cover the guitar mics and lead the singing. Let me know if interested!
