As previously noted, Father is introducing a new Mass Setting for Lent entitled Storrington Mass (Marty Haugen). We'll be doing SS #151, Come to the Lord, as our Gathering song for the season, and GC3 #482, The Cross of Jesus, for Closing. Lent begins the first weekend in March. I'd like to schedule at least one rehearsal to learn the new Mass Setting, probably 02/17 if that works for everyone.
The music for February has been sent to the Office. I'll get this out to the group once its been finalized (that way, there won't be multiple revisions in circulation). In the interim, the music for this week is below. I've also drafted the music for March, including the first four weeks of Lent.
The Lord is My Light is a Psalm we haven't done in a while (any takers?). This is the version out of Spirit & Song, which has the verses before the refrain. Even so, I think repeating the refrain twice the first time shouldn't be an issue.
We have an RCIA Rite of Dismissal after the Homily. We'll use the refrain and first verse from A Lamp for Our Feet.
I'll be out next Saturday, 02/11, due to a Choral Society concert. I know that there have been issues in the past with keeping everything together when no one is up front directing, so I've asked Eva to cover for me. Jim is available to play lead. Note that we have another Baptism that week.
