As part of the Season of Creation, Father has requested that we use two common songs for the next five weeks. Canticle of the Sun will be used for Gathering & Closing, and Touch the Earth Lightly for Offertory. The ladder is new, so if you haven't already, please take some time to learn it. This leaves us with two songs that will change from week-to-week (Psalm & Communion); I've tried to vary these as much as possible to keep things interesting.
For I Will Choose Christ, one potential concern is how to manage the key changes. Since this is on the board for Communion, it's possible we may need to end the song before getting through all the verses. We've ended it after a verse before, but we'll just need to make sure we're all on the same page. Another possibility would be to use the version in GC, which doesn't have any key changes.
A quick update on the search for a pianist: some of you are already familiar with the details, so I won't go into them here, but we have been given the green light to move forward. There are some things that need to be sorted out/discussed first, though. Will keep you appraised.
