We've moved!

Effective February 13, 2018, we've migrated to a new website.

Our old site, GSC Mass Appeal, has served us well since 2013. However, due to many limitations of the basic Blogger template, it was time to launch a new homepage.

GSC Mass Appeal will remain online indefinitely, but it will no longer be updated. All content, including posts and static pages, has been moved over to the new site (check it out here). Outdated pages will be taken down to avoid confusion.

Thanks for your interest in the 5:30 Music Ministry!

Yours in music,

Crispolo Bloom

Songs & Updates for Saturday, October 10, 2015

This Saturday is the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Mass last week went pretty well. Thanks as always to everyone who was able to be there!

Tom, Lisa K. and I stick around after Mass to look at the songs for this week. The songs for October are still pending approval, but what I picked for this week is below. I'll let you know if there are any changes.

Songs & Updates for Saturday, October 3, 2015

This Saturday is the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Mass last week went pretty well. The only real issue we had was some confusion over how to end the Offertory song, 'I Will Choose Christ'. It doesn't seem to work particularly well for Offertory (the key changes make it difficult to end the piece early), so I'll try to refrain from using it for that in the future.

Songs & Updates for Saturday, March 7, 2015

This Saturday is the Third Sunday of Lent.
Despite a rushed rehearsal, mass turned out fairly well with only a few minor issues. Of note, we where able to not only pull together the prelude, but also a new Psalm and make it through two pieces that we ran out of time to practice. Thanks to all who where able to be there!

Songs & Updates for Saturday, February 7, 2015

This Saturday is the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time.
I was at the 9 AM mass last weekend due to another commitment, so I don't have many updates.

Songs & Updates for Saturday, January 10, 2015

This Saturday is the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord.
Last Saturday, several of us didn't make it to mass due to the weather. I also canceled practice to be on the safe side, so I don't have much in the way of news this week.

Songs & Updates for Saturday, November 29, 2014

This Saturday is the First Sunday of Advent. Welcome to Year B on the liturgical calendar!
I was not able to make it to mass last week due to the bad conditions, so I don't have too many updates.

In light of what happened over the weekend with weather, please keep an eye on your email and the website on Saturday afternoons for any changes to the plan.

GSC Mass Appeal is now Online!

With Jonathan leaving tomorrow, I wanted to get this site up-and-running as soon as possible. There are several sections that aren't yet finished, but the blog is otherwise fully operational. Most notably, the repertoire sections are largely incomplete (beyond a basic template for future use) and Barry and I still need to work out the multimedia aspects.

On the other hand, the group calendar is up and running. If you'd like to be able to edit it (that is, schedule new events, edit existing ones, etc.), let me know and I'll send you a share invitation.

I'm hoping to begin posting music and/or a basic plan for next Saturday (May 11th) very soon. Even though I do have a blog of my own, this is my first time administering one for a group, so please bear with me. If it turns out that this is too much for me to handle on my own, I may ask one or two other people to become admins to help me out a bit.

Do let me know what you think so far, and feel free to email with any questions!
