Songs for Saturday, June 1, 2013

UPDATE (5/30) - Father's changes to our program our marked below. The changes are pretty minor -- one song was swapped and 'We Are One Body' has once again been nixed...

This coming Saturday is the Feast of the Body & Blood of Christ. It's also the last Sunday of Easter before we switch back to Ordinary Time on June 8th.

A few notes: Chip will be covering for Zach once again on bass. Jim may be out again and Paul won't be able to make it either. My sister may also be out as well. In the case that all three of them are out, I'll be acting-director for the night.

Regardless, I'm tentatively planning to have a rehearsal after mass to go over Mass of Creation (we won't be worrying about learning any parts on such short notice) and the music for the next few weeks. We'll all pitch in for pizza once again. Please let Ginny know if you're able to stay -- this is only worth doing if we have enough people.

I've swapped the Communion hymn for 'We Are One Body'. As you may recall, we rehearsed this one for Pentecost, but didn't get a chance to use it. I think this would be a fun piece to do again (it fits this weeks celebration quite well) and I'd like to try out the microphone configuration we came up with.

Here's the music for this week:

Gathering:
SS 122 - 'In This Place' (verses 1 &2 only)

Response:
SS 62 - 'Taste and See (Psalm 34)
Verses 1 & 2 only; Ginny and Lisa K. cantoring

Alleluia:
Who wants to do this?

Preparation:
SS 200 - 'Revive Us, O God'

Communion:
t4C 'We Are One Body'
SS 157 'Bread for the World'

Closing:
SS 101 - Beyond the Days
SS 122 - 'In This Place' (Verses 2 & 3 only)

Finally, for anyone who's interested, the folks in charge of Catholic Night at the Spikes have extended an invitation to all our Choirs to come and sing at the game that night. I'm trying to find out who's directing the choir since the event is open to more than just our parish -- I'll post the details I have from Barb and any updates soon.

"A blessing on your head..."
